DEFINING AND ACHIEVING BEST PRACTICE

We provided a team of expert business and technical people for the market testing and subsequent outsourcing of an Australian Government agency’s Regional Information and Communication Technology (RICT) requirements. When this commenced in 2007, it was the largest Commonwealth outsourcing of ICT staffing and processes ever undertaken. The project ran for two years with an estimated ongoing saving of $300 million per annum, as well as other ‘soft’ value-for-money outcomes including:

  • Flexible team resourcing based on point in time skill requirements
  • Reorganisation and restructure of the current Service Delivery Model into service product lines enabling easier ability to make a market testing comparison
  • Easy access to skilled resources reducing overall implementation costs and timeframes
  • Surge capability for rapid resourcing response to project requirements.

PROTECTING AN ORGANISATION FROM CYBER THREATS

Our client needed assurance that its networks and infrastructure were appropriately protected from hostile cyber threats. While the number and severity of these threats changed regularly, on any given day it experienced over 500,000 cyber threats/attacks (spam, botnets, spyware, malware, viruses, DDOS, unknown encrypted files etc) that needed to be resolved in order to maintain operations. We were engaged to conduct a risk review of the client’s networks, applications and infrastructure, and provide a complete blueprint for establishing a layered cyber protection regime inclusive of training, specialist hardware and software, test labs, and a 24/7 cybersecurity operations centre for identifying, containing, resolving and recovering from cyber threats.

The implemented solution saved the organisation over $3.4 million per annum in improved network and application up-times, and through measurably enhanced levels of customer satisfaction.
